Gopal Panchanathan, Founder and CEO
Gopal brings to ThinkOptics deep technology and management expertise in systems and software development, product development & management, R&D portfolio management and business development, including 15 years at Xerox and Xerox/PARC in various management roles. He has also held technology development roles at Amdahl, and business development roles at Compaq. His recent start-up experience includes serving as VP, Business Development at Rackable Systems, as well as, at Gigion which he co-founded. Gopal holds a Bachelor of Technology degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai, India, MS-EE from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan, and MBA from the Golden Gate University, San Francisco, California.
Anders Grunnet-Jepsen, Ph. D, Founder and CTO
Anders has over 20 years R&D, Technology and Business Development experience. He was Chief Scientist for Templex Technology (acquired by Intel in 2001) and worked at Intel on integrated optical circuits and HD display chip technologies. He has also worked at UC San Diego, Thomson-CSF (France), NKT Research Center (Denmark) and been a consultant for Innurvation, Aptina, LitePoint, and Teradyne. Anders holds a Ph.D. in Optical Engineering from Oxford University, and a M.Sc. from DTU, Denmark, and has authored more than 30 patents, 30 technical publications, and a research text book on the Physics and Applications of Photorefractive materials (Why this is not a best seller on Amazon remains a mystery to him).
John Sweetser, Ph. D, Founder and VP of Engineering
John has over 20 years experience in R&D and product development in various areas of optical technology including ultrafast optics and spectroscopy at Sandia National Labs and optical communications at Templex Technology and Intel’s Photonics Technology Operation. John holds a Ph.D. in Optical Engineering from the Institute of Optics (University of Rochester) and a BS and M.Eng. from Cornell University, and has authored over 20 patents and 25 peer-reviewed technical publications.
